I have been working late most evenings this week and when I am there after hours, I have a tendency to like to listen to music. Well I didn't have any with me, so I did the next best thing and called up some You Tube videos to listen to, as I work. The Bruce Springsteen post I did the other day, comes from one of those late night sessions. Today I moved on from Bruce and found a few real vintage clips from a BBC Show called The Old Grey Whistle Test. One of the first ones I found was very early Police doing 2 songs "Can't Stand Losing" and "Next To You". I then found an excellent version of Al Stewart performing "Year of the Cat". This one brought back so many college memories for me.
I see there are lots of acts to watch and enjoy, including The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Who, Blondie, Queen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Marley, Judas Priest, U2, ZZ Top, Yes, Led Zeppelin, Jackson Browne, John Lennon, Dire Straits, Bonnie Raitt and Meatloaf.
Another thing possibly coming around to your area of the world. There is a Billy Joel, The Stranger, episode of the show currently airing on some TV stations. I caught it the other day and you could tell it was filmed when he performed on this very show. Oh and some of those songs are uploaded on You Tube, too. :-)
You might want to check it out for yourself.
