This is me, in the Spring Session of 1977. Long, long hair, bangs that were parted in the middle and a turtle neck. That was what I looked like, every day. Switching off between the white turtle neck, a red one and then a black one. I may still have them, though I have not really warn them since the first time I was in Oswego, New York. I was in a photography class and I needed to finish a roll of film, so my girlfriend took a photo of me and I took a photo of her. We were in a place called Poucher Hall and the background was what was there at the time.
So those 36 years have passed and I go back to the hall where this photo was taken, to see if it still exists.
Poucher Hall is now part of what is called Campus Center. They used old buildings and added new structures, to bring much more function to that part of the campus. It is was done well and it includes a wonderful, professional ice rink that is the pride of the entire Upstate New York area. What was lost, was most of the interior of the buildings, as they upgraded them to new standards and I believe the tile walls, might have gone with them.
So during my last week at school, I took a walk in the old area of Campus Center, looking for those tiles. I went through it all and just when I got to the end of the hall and was ready to give up...there it was! An old stairwell that still had the tiles.
It is probably not where we took that long ago photo, but it is close enough for me.
Enjoy.
