Oil Grasshoppers (AKA: Pumpjack)

I took this photo deliberately, to show off the central valley of California.

We were on the train, passing the area of Camp Roberts, not too far from Paso Robles.

It is filled with so many of these grasshoppers, especially when driving the 46 between Paso Robles, and Interstate 5.

You have many that are just northwest of Bakersfield, too. I believe much of it follows the immediate area around the San Andreas Fault.

We are an oil rich area of the United States.

It is an interesting aspect of the State of California.

Bugs

We have some sort of new bug crawling around our garage front.

I have heard I am not the only one, so I am not totally upset about it.

Well, it got worse, when I woke up to one of them on the front of my freezer.

I don't know how it got into my house, and I hope that it wasn't the start of something.

I grabbed it with a paper towel, and sent it out the back door. They say if you pick it up, and squish it, you will get a blister, so I was careful.

It might be a Master Blister Beetle, and I go along with that, because I see them mating all the time, which I saw photos of, for that particular beetle.

I am not happy at all, having them around, but at least they are not mosquitos.
