It used to be called State Line Nevada.
It was the first place that east bound Californian's could legally stop and gamble. Whiskey Pete's has always been there, at least in all my years of driving through the area. Later on, Primmadona came along, named after the owner, Primm. In 1996 the area was asked to change it's name, due to confusion with Stateline up in the Lake Tahoe area and so they decided to name the area after the owner and it became Primm or Primm Valley.
There are 3 resort/casinos there. Whiskey Pete's Hotel and Casino, Primm Valley Resort and Casino and Buffalo Bill's Resort and Casino, Buffalo Bill's has an absolutely HUGE (209 feet tall) roller coaster, "The Desperado", on the property, which makes it the most eye catching landmark on the site.
The only times I have ever stopped there, is when the gas in the car, just wasn't going to make it all the way to Las Vegas. Since we are always on our way home in the evening, after looking at the exhibits of the NAB, we are always (can I say that again) ALWAYS in a hurry...
Maybe someday we will make a stop and look around.
