The morning after we attended the latest Steely Dan concert, I was taken to the East Ventura Metrolink Station. It is a totally hidden station, but in good news for me, walking distance from the hotel we stayed in.
My Husband got up and drove me over, to make sure I made it safe and sound and these photos show you what it looked like that morning. What a lovely sunrise, greeted me.
This lower photo shows the train off on its siding. It spent the night there, along with 2 other trains. When it is time for the train to run, it moves to just past the end of the platform and then they change the switch, so it can move into position. We are then able to board the train, from the platform.
When it is time to depart, the train goes back to the end of the platform. Once again they flip the switch to another track and we move out and connect with the main line that goes from San Diego, all the way up the coast to eventually arrive in Seattle, Washington. In other words, the Coast Starlight uses this very same track.
The entire trip to Burbank took just over an hour. My Husband had a free pass on the train, so it did not cost me a thing, too.
That was the best part!
