Sober Bars

When I was at the Highland Park Bowl in December, we were offered Mocktails only, no alcohol. It was a company party, so I assume that was why.

I had never had one of them before, but decided what could I lose. I got the Cherry Mule Fizz. It was delicious and healthy, from what I gather.

I didn't think anything of it, until I read this article on Sober Bars.

It seems that they are a "Thing" now days, for those who enjoy the camaraderie of a bar, but no longer can drink, due to being on Al Anon or just wanting to keep off the liquor.

My Brother and I were talking the other day and he mentioned that Long Island has nothing of the sort and so all those who avoid liquor, end up hanging out a coffee houses.

I hope they catch on, because it seems to be a perfect idea.

Norm from Cheers could have used something like this. :-)
