This photo was taken from the bus, as we drove through the corn fields of Illinois.
It was getting toward evening and so the tassels of the corn really show up in their yellow splendor.
Most of the corn we saw in other areas were younger and had no tassels. I assume they were planted late in the growing season.
When people refer to the Corn Belt, they are not kidding. It was growing in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois and Kansas.
They are a beautiful crop to see growing.
