Cat Ornaments

There is always a special place on my tree for my cats...past and present.

It started with my first one, who got a cute photo of us holding our baby kitten.

She taught us about parenting and lasted until years after my Son was born.

Shortly after, we picked up a cat from our vet. The cat had been declawed by a Valencia family (don't get me started about declawing a cat) and after torturing the poor thing, they returned her to the vet, because their daughter was alergic to it. We had her for 2 years, but the last few months were terrible for her and she died of something (the vet tested her to try to find out what, but was unsuccessful) Years later, I think it was the declawing that ultimately did her in.

We were afraid to bring another cat into our lives, because of not knowing what she had died of.

Finally in 2009, my son and I broke down and went with a friend of his and chose a cat.

Makenna has been our joy for the past 13 years and we hope for many more.

Her ornament graces our tree, with a red frame.

Being I grew up with a mother who hated cats, my Husband, Son and I have enjoyed the wonder that comes with cat ownership.

  3. Makenna then came to you when Souris came to us, in 2009. I understand the hesitation of bringing new furry family members into your life, because that's what they are, family members.

  4. It took Mitch the longest time to warm up to Makenna...and look at him now. He loves her so much.
