I worked on both sides of Griffith Park, so the mountains that were P-22's habitat, were well known to me.
As so many have stated before, I never saw him on the prowl...but I knew he was there.
I was so saddened to hear that he is no longer alive.
It was so comforting to know that a mountain lion had lived his life in that small area of land for 12 years.
He was usually not seen, up until recently. His behavior changed and it caused the wildlife people to go out and try to catch him.
Due to being hit potentially by a car, he was not the mountain lion we all knew. He started going after small dogs, because I am sure they were easier to catch in his less than primo condition.
After extensive testing, they decided to euthanize him on Saturday.
We the residents of Los Angeles, are heartbroken.
He was a one of a kind cat.

I don't blame you, yeah I know he was more then just a Cat, but it's still sad. :(
