Spouting Horn, Kauai, HI

Upon our arrival on Kauai, we were taken on an immediate detour.

I figured it must be good if we were going to have to back track to continue on our journey.

Yes, it was.

This is Spouting Horn, a hole in the rock at the shore that not only shoots water similar to a geyser, it makes the sound of a horn, as it does it.

I was quite impressed with it and the whole area.

The sign explains a lot of what I just said.

The softer rock wore away by the wave action and the harder rock left a hole.

There are other places that do similar sprays, but only the one makes the noise that you hear every few seconds.

Impressive.
