We Made It To Winslow!

On our way to Flagstaff, to return our rental car, and board a train to Los Angeles, we managed to make a detour.

In spite of the flooding, the levees overflowing, and dams in danger of collapse, we drove over to Winslow and found the infamous "corner".

It looked quite a bit worse for wear, if you look at the street, it seems that some of the flood water, may have come to this area of the downtown.

It was dry, and people were constantly stopping and taking photos by the statues.

One nice lady, took a few photos of me and my Husband, so we have the proof.

I have stood on the corner, in Winslow, Arizona. :-)

We Are Worried About Our Journey Back To L.A., Via Amtrak

We will do our laundry tomorrow, and head out to Flagstaff, Arizona, to pick up our train.

We keep getting messages about flooding in the city, so we do not know what we are going to find, when we get there. The rental car company expects us to return the car, so hopefully they are OK.

We will call before we head on over.

We had plans to run over to Winslow, Arizona, but I feel that will not happen, because they are flooded there, too.

I am going to be very upset about that, but we will do what gets us home safely.

I think that will be all our traveling, for this year.

Wish us luck.

Photo is Flagstaff Station, at night.

Back To The Grand Canyon (2026)

In new sections we visited, this time around, Mather Point, was one of them.

It is a 5 minute walk from the Visitor Center, on the far right of the canyon.

It was different than much of the Village areas, which we saw a few years ago, and I wrote about HERE.

We saw a movie at the Visitor's Center, about the native tribes that call the canyon home. You can see the tribes named in that walkway.

It was worth the time to get a different perspective, on the American People, both Native, and tourists.

More another day.

The Grand Canyon Railway

We rode The Grand Canyon Railway on Monday.

All in all, it was very nice, and it did not take all that long, at least according to me.

It takes 2 1/2 hours to travel 60 miles.

The water situation in the canyon itself, does make things more challenging, but it's easy to get around and into different places, due to less people.

More challenges upcoming.

Stay tuned.

Phoenix To Williams, Arizona

My Water Post For Today.

It has been raining here in Phoenix, and we knew it was going to continue all day Sunday.

As predicted, it rained all day.

We reached Dewey-Humboldt exit on I-17 and they took us all off the Interstate.

We went West for a long time, then North through the Prescott Valley, and finally we connected with Route 66 and went East to Williams. Yay!

This photo was taken as we exited the 17.

It has flooded sections of the Interstate, and dams overflowing.

Yes, we have plenty of water.

The Grand Canyon tomorrow.

A Birthday (2026)

For my Son's Birthday, we went to dinner at the Fry Bread House, and then took in a performance at Symphony Hall.

We saw Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.

It was cool to hear the soundtrack of the movie, coming from the orchestra.

I have never done this before, though the Hollywood Bowl does it quite often.

We enjoyed ourselves, but got home late.

My Son flies home, this morning.
