The Buildings At The Getty

Just a few photos that I took of some of the buildings around the complex. This very dramatic building is the south building. We caught this view as we made our way to the cactus garden. It overlooks Santa Monica, so I think that is why it is built the way it is.

The second photo is of the restaurant over on the far right as you enter. It has a lavender pergola along the side of it. As my son pointed out, one of the few colors that are found in the entire Getty Center.

There are many more buildings, but this gives a feel of both the front and the back of the complex.

  1. It has been a crazy week, so while I have read, I have not commented. I am really enjoying Getty Week!

  2. I only visited the Getty once, and I'm not a real Art Connoisseur, but I really appreciated the physical plant, including the buildings, the gardens and the location. I'm also enjoying Getty Week.

  3. Like I have been saying, a tour of Getty has been a great tour. I know I will never see it, (even if I go back to LA). So you giving the tour, has been a great joy for me. Thank You!!! :-)

  4. As an artist, I was (for the most part) singularly unimpressed with the artwork itself. Basically the man's (or Trust's) taste is not mine. But yeah, the Complex ROCKS!

I am glad you all are enjoying it. It really is a great place.
