I admit that I love beautiful, colorful things.
I saw this on my trip to the Getty Center and after much agonizing, it ended up being purchased by me. It is glass and each little section is hand painted a different color, by artists in Italy. I fell in love with it and decided it would work out well on my desk. So I put a few paper clips in it and it now has been there for the past few weeks. Truly, it gives me such joy to have something so colorful there on my mostly utilitarian desk.
Much thanks to the person at the Getty who is in charge of purchasing. In my humble opinion, they have a good eye for art. At least in this case.
It is beautiful, it so nice to know I am not the only one who see something and knows she has to have it. I like all the Angels on your desk too. It makes the desk something to look forward to coming to each day. :-)

ReplyDeleteI have a set of 3 beautiful ceramic bowls and a ceramic vase filled with dried grasses (fancy grass, not lawn grass) on my filing cabinet at work, just because they're beautiful. The bowls came home with me from the gallery I saw them at because I picked them up and held them, and knew they belonged in my hands. I still periodically pick one up just to enjoy it. Makes work more bearable.
