It has been a month and it was time for my box of produce.
Here's what I got.
2 heads of butter lettuce
1 lb of small carrots
2 Zucchini
1 Yellow Squash
1 basket of Strawberries
1 container of Blackberries
6 Santa Rosa Plums
1 English Cucumber
1 bunch of Collard Greens
1 Bunch of Red Russian Kale
2 lbs of Red Potatoes (about 10 small)
1 bunch of Purple Basil
Thoughts I had, right off the bat. What the heck is Red Russian Kale?
The LA Times says it is the sweetest of the kale types and to cook it in some olive oil until tender. hmmmm...
The Strawberries are gorgeous this time around and so are the blackberries.
The Santa Rosa Plums are usually fabulous and I can't wait to try one of them.
I cooked the collards and will eat it this week with my dinner.
The potatoes look perfect for potato salad.
