River Village Park, Valencia

It is our newest park. It is called River Village and it is small, but it gets a lot of things into its small space.

I only had a few minutes to walk around, but in that time I visited:

A parking lot that directly connects it to the river trail. That trail will eventually cross the river and connect to miles of bike paths, that go in every direction through Santa Clarita. Especially since the park is "Centrally" located.

A path that winds its way up the canyon and hill, to eventually bring you to the back end of Santa Clarita's Central Park (happy Shawn?) As a matter of fact, that part is for the Cross Country teams to use. So this will give them more area to run in. I am sure they must get tired of running on the streets of Saugus.

Next up, this wonderful children's play area. They use footprints of animals on the surfaces in the area and that gives it a cheerful feeling. You can just see some of the prints on the concrete, at the far left of the photo.

Next to the children's play area is a covered picnic structure where families can feed their children picnic lunches, or maybe even barbecue (don't quote me on that). The area is behind the play area and you can watch your children, while sitting at the tables.

I may post a few more photos, another day. I hope you enjoy it, so far.
