Ash Wednesday Pandemic Style

Yesterday was Ash Wednesday. Celebrated this year virtually.

I watched part of the Mass at home and decided to go to receive ashes in the evening, when they had a shortened service.

I figured it would be safer.

I was right.

All told, it took exactly an hour to sit in my car in the parking lot and watch the readings and prayers coming from the empty church.

Then the line up for ashes given while you sat in your car.

It was a weird experience, but in good news, our church will be having Mass in the church starting on 2/28.

25 percent capacity, which is 300 parishioners. Yes, our church holds 1,200.

Remember man that you are dust and to dust you shall return.
