Another day on the rails and if all goes as expected, we should arrive in Emeryville, California, at around 4:30PM this afternoon.
As the people who died in the Donner Pass know, it is the only way into the State of California, from the north.
A very beautiful area, but very remote.
We intend to sleep just outside the station, at a hotel in Emeryville, and will pick up the Coast Starlight on Thursday.
Can't wait to get home.
