My humble Cities latest retail project is a lovely development called Bridgeport Marketplace. Never mind that it sits on land that is part of Valencia Northbridge. They wanted it to be part of tony Bridgeport and obviously, that's that. :-)
The land has been vacant for the past 15 or so years, due to the fact that an inactive Fault runs through it. They didn't want to build houses on it and so they left it fallow. Well, we now have many shops and a Bristol Farms Market coming to the development. I hope someone did the full disclosure thing with these future tenents, but that's not actually the subject of this post. This is...
If you remember, I did a post several months ago. It concerned the area across the street from this development, the real Bridgeport. It's an area that was built with lots of man made waterscapes. Well, the birds of the area have discovered it and have angered the residents with their poop and their presence. Things haven't changed much in the months that have passed, except that the developer of the new Bridgeport Marketplace has added a waterscape at the corner of its development. It's beautiful, don't get me wrong, but geese have found it and they like to go back and forth between the two waterscapes. This occurs in the morning and in the evening, when they get hungry.
So off they go, crossing 10 LANES OF TRAFFIC!!!!!
Needless to say, it's become a major hazard for our local drivers and a sad way to kill off lots of geese. The article is here.
I don't know what the final outcome of this will be, but it saddens me once again.

1st one is the

Those triangular
poles usually have
cloth on them to give
the appearance of sailboats.
2nd photo shows the Bridgeport

10 lanes of traffic between
the two of them.
