KTLA Signs Off On Analog 6/12/09 At 10:45PM

One station in the Los Angeles area did the transition up right.

KTLA, which has history going way back to the dawn of the TV age, signed off on their Analog broadcast in Prime Time, with their KTLA News Team and long time reporter, Stan Chambers, up on Mt. Wilson, to make the change.

His grandson, Jaime Chambers, also a reporter for the station, was by his side. The old and the new. How cool is that?

Here's how it went. Live...

Thanks KTLA, for acknowledging how important this was, in the history of Broadcast and giving our future generations some video to show when it actually happened.

  2. Yeah, we did NOTHING!

One minute we were on, the next we were off and no comment to say that we were leaving.

In cool stuff, 2 long timers were there in Master Control together, when they shut it down. One came back, just to be in the room when it happened...history.
