Old Barney - A Visit

My Water Post For Today.

For those who are observant, you know it graces the top of my blog.

My friend who lives in New Jersey has made several visits over the years to a light house on the central coast of New Jersey. Between Asbury Park to the north and Atlantic City to the south, it sits on Long Beach Island. Recently relit, it is well preserved and oh so beautiful.

We met up and caravaned to the light house. It was a perfect day to spend talking, eating, walking, exploring and enjoying the Jersey Coast.

I hope you enjoy my visit to Barnegat Light, as much as I enjoyed going.

If you would like to see my post about the relighting, it is here.

  1. Best. Water post. Ever.

(But I may be biased. LOL!)

I do think that's a great shot. Seems like there were more people fishing off the rocks than usual. Maybe it had to do with the season and whatever fish may be around or perhaps the ones fishing just prefer to try their luck during a less touristy time of year, but before it starts getting too cold.

In general I think it's always cool when you've seen pictures of a place, perhaps had interest enough to read about it, but then when you've visited there's a sense of accomplishment that now you can say "I've BEEN there."

I'm so glad you had a good time!

  2. I spent most of the weekend (when I didn't go to work) dealing with all the photos of the trip. Hundreds of them...ACK!

I guess that is proof of the fact that we had a great time. :-)

So finally, my full memory cards are clear, my cell phones are empty and the mundane moments of my life are free to be documented once again. Yay!

I noticed the difference in the two photos are that there are lots and lots of people around. It was an absolutely PERFECT day and I am sure that added to it.

Next year the Jersey Light House run! lol
