It is Lent, once again.
Along with the ashes you can get, it brings to Santa Clarita the St. Clare's Fish Fry, which you can read about HERE.
My Husband is SO excited, that he wrote the dates on our calendar. He loves it that much. :-)
A personal story.
I was riding the Metrolink train one time and Father Ed and Paul Travers were on their way down to the Archdiocese in L.A. Father Ed and I were sitting together talking and Paul was sitting there watching us.
It was a funny dynamic, since Paul had absolutely no idea who I was, but at one point he called the people who he orders the food for the Fish Fry from. Hearing things like 6 lugs of cabbage and 300 lbs of fish, was absolutely hysterical.
It did bring home to me the incredible work that goes into it each year.
A wonderful way to build community, in a time of reflection.
