I have had so many things to talk about, that I have not gotten to all the things I was going to mention about my quick trip to Boston.
I flew into Logan and I had seen there was this bus that runs til after midnight called The Silver Line. It drops its passengers off at South Station in Downtown Boston. This line was what made my after concert trip to Logan, possible. They just didn't tell me that I could only sit at the entrance and not by the gates... Oh well, live and learn.
Anyway, this station connects to two different subway lines, one of which is the red line. So the entire Downtown area is within your grasp. It's a great bus service that changes mid way from a bus, to a light rail subway, that goes underground. I was impressed.
The tunnels are square and made for the bus, but it gets its power from the cables at the top of the tunnel, or on cantenary wires above the track for the bus, when it is outside. I was impressed at how efficient it was and cheap, too. This photo shows how the bus looks, when it is under South Station. The Red Line is one level up from the Silver Line.
Major kudos to Boston! Now if we can only get somewhere for the overnight crowd to be able to sleep, while they wait for the morning, it would be perfect. At least we had a bathroom to use.
