My Water Post For Today.
When I saw this statue, I had no idea who it was or what it represented. As we traveled around our area of town, I learned the different areas and the fact that this corner was 5 Points.
The square where this fountain is located, is called Tilikum Place (the name meaning "welcome" or "greetings" in Chinook jargon).
The statue is of Chief Seattle. He has his hand raised in greeting for the white man. It was the first time the Chinook people had ever seen explorers.
The fountain he sits in has 2 bear heads spitting out water.
...and yes, I do notice the irony of the Immigration building right behind the statue.
