Since my sister asked...here are the latest metal stats for the small team of Santa Clarita athletes.
David Smith (Volleyball) Saugus High. Team USA is playing in the semi-finals today against Italy.
Abbey Weitzeil (Swimming) Saugus High. 4x100m medley Gold, 4x100 freestyle Silver.
Anthony Ervin (Swimming) Hart High (Valencia). 50m Freestyle Gold, 4x100m Relay Gold
Also, there is another member of the Olympic team who I forgot to mention in my earlier post, because she was not raised here.
Allyson Felix (Track) Lives in Santa Clarita, though she went to school in the San Fernando Valley. She has a Silver Medal in Women's 400 and she still has 2 events to compete in.
So our metal tally is at 5 right now. 3 Gold and 2 Silver. Pretty impressive.
I am very Impressed your people they did very well for them self's.
