Aretha Franklin died yesterday at 76.
Obviously, a sad day for music in general and Steely Dan Fans in particular.
38 years ago, Donald and Walter name checked her in one of their songs, "Hey Nineteen".
Guess what, today she was remembered as The Queen of Soul, in every post and obit I saw.
My own memory of Aretha, was when she received the Vanguard Award at the 2008 Image Awards.
She was clothed in white and sang a duet with Stevie Wonder.
You just can't get much better.
Godspeed Aretha.
