This was the view from the third floor escalator at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
In the foreground is Park La Brea, a unique housing development in the Mid Wilshire (Miracle Mile) section of Los Angeles.
On the hill further back, is Griffith Observatory and then way back, is the snow on the San Gabriel Mountains.
It was around 4PM and the sun was low in the sky, giving the photo quite a golden hue.
When it look like LA, it makes me want to go there, oh well, but I do like looking.
ReplyDeleteThank you Angel :-)
How beautiful! I'd like to live where there are mountains someday... the current wallpaper on my work computer is a picture taken of the Himalayas through the window of a monastery in Lhasa, Tibet. I heart National Geographic... ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat is probably my favorite thing about the Los Angeles area.
ReplyDeleteNot only the far mountains, but the near and the not so near and the far. Layers of mountains...all caused by faults, of course, but beautiful none the less.
Martha, do not give up. Maybe sometime we will get you out here again. Nothing is impossible.
Oh I love this photo! It is the best of LA. I (as you know) used to live not too far from the Griffith Park observatory and it is a place I love.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
My pleasure, Fran. I have got to get up to the new Observatory. I haven't been, since my son was a little guy.
