This display is in the front of the LA County Museum Of Art (LACMA).
It reminds me of a display in my area of Los Angeles, called Vermonica.
It's a bunch of light poles in the middle of a shopping center parking lot. Down the street from the parking lot is a storage yard for lots of light poles and the artist borrowed some, for the work of art.
I am not sure what's going on here at LACMA, but why do I feel it's probably related to Vermonica...

I really love the way you can walk in and out of the different rows and how people appear and disappear in a moment.
I did a little research and I see from several blogs, that it's even more beautiful after dark.
Major kudos to Chris Burden for his Urban Light exhibit.
very nice :-)
ReplyDeleteI think it was the way you started the whole blog "When The Lights Go Down In The City" it is California, no other place in the world could this be. I love it and I miss it too. :-)
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's my favorite Journey song. I remember one of our local radio stations used it as their final farewell, when they went off the air. Of course, to me, anytime you mention "The Bay" it means San Francisco...but it could be Santa Monica Bay.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was deciding what to name this post, this came to me immediately...and then I kept second guessing myself and thinking I should go with the name of the artwork. Glad I kept it. :-)
Hey Gina!!!!
Glad you like it, too.
Wow! That's fantastic. The palm trees in the background of the evening picture make it even more wonderful. I love community-accessible art.
ReplyDeleteNever second-guess yourself, Angel; your instincts are good.
Yeah, Now I really want to return at night. How stunning!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the support, Piglet. Glad you liked the title. :-)
