More News From Aquafit

In my aquafit class we have a student who stays with her sister, during the winter months. She purchases membership in our gym and swims laps and then does the aquafit class with us.

Over the years she has become my friend and was especially helpful when I was navigating higher education a few years ago. She has her PHD and is on the faculty of National Louis University in Chicago.

I saw her last Saturday and we had a more than normal conversation as she related the fact that she was going down to San Diego to take a course in her specialty, Psychology.

She was in great spirits and we spent the class next to each other.

On Sunday she was not feeling as good and she ended up in the hospital. I heard about it on Wednesday morning, in my class.

She is 91 years old, but somehow, I knew it was her time.

She died on Thursday.

I am very depressed about it, because she had been so animated and full of life. I guess maybe that is the way to go, enjoying life and learning, right up to the end.

My very best to Rita, who is now on the other side.

I will miss you, my friend.
