Botanical Building And Reflecting Pool

My Water Post For Today.

I had some other plans for today, but since I posted a tease of this view at Balboa Park on last weeks post, I felt it was my responsibility to show you the view that they say is the most photographed one.
As I mentioned last week, I did indeed do a bit of fancy footwork, in regard to the saturation, so the color is a bit different from my straight out of the camera shot.

To those who know my Hubby or our friends from Phoenix, you might want to click the photo, they turn up on the left side of the pond. Yes, forever waiting for me. :-)

Most of the history you got last week, so I won't repeat it this week.

Enjoy a really stunning photo of the Lily Pond and Reflecting Pool.

  1. Looking either way over the pond is a great view. I thik it's just the symmetrical nature of the botanical building centered beyond the pond which makes the pic a natural to most folks. But either direction is a great view.

Of course, I wouldn't care if the pond were filled with algae and muck, as long it ain't frozen over I'll take it!

P.S. And being a winter-hater I especially appreciate these monday glimpses into warmer climes.

  2. (Guess I should have said COLD winter-hater. I mean everywhere has winter, right? But not everywhere has a COLD winter. To be sure there are places far colder than NJ in winter, but it's more than cold enough for me...)

  3. I am not a winter hater...but I haven't had to deal with one for 30 years. Bet that makes a BIG difference. :-)

Glad you like how this photo came out. For some reason though, the ornate architecture of the other shot, spoke to me personally and that's why I posted it first.
