When I went to the Holiday Party with Huell Howser and staff, last month, the person who was sitting next to me mentioned that he had just rented our lot for a film he was doing, in his off time. I thought that was just fabulous because, minus Tavis Smiley, we are not doing much of anything right this minute. I came in on Monday of last week and there was all this stuff in front of the building I work in.
I immediately realized that it must be that rental. The producer of this movie is one of our promotion people. He makes some of the promos that viewers in Los Angeles see on our air. He said that he is bankrolling this movie himself and if it flies, he will try to use the money he makes off of it, to make more.
In the midst of this really crappy economy, it's good to see some initiative.
