Rain, Rain and more Rain...
When the El Nino weather pattern hits, it's rain every day and so far, that's what's going on here, in the land of LA.
We had lots of rain in the early part of the afternoon, lots of thunder and such and then around 3PM...The sun came out and the rainbows descended on the Silverlake area that we inhabit.

The end of the rainbow was at Thomas Starr King Middle School, 2 blocks away, to be exact. :-)
Hope you like the artsy shot through my bosses window and then the more traditional outside shot with a double rainbow, no less.
Wow- and how many hundreds of times have I driven by that school?
ReplyDeleteI know I harp on my old life here, but your blog is a nostalgic spot for me, one that touches my heart!
My current life is amazing, but I do miss LA a lot!
They're both beautiful. The artsy one because it looks like the 'bow is a protective dome over a localized pocket of sunshine. A double 'bow is always special too.
ReplyDeleteIs there anyone who doesn't love rainbows? If I'm in a storm (or one only just passed) and the cloud cover suddenly breaks to allow the sunlight through, I almost always look to see if I can find one (or two).
Fran: Yeah, me too. I always think of the many times I worked crew and had to get to work by 8AM and the kids were walking to school and it was just a mess there on Fountain. :-)
ReplyDeleteDim Skip: Me too! Sun pops out and that's me with my head going around in a circle, to see if anything made the miracle that is a rainbow. This one my boss pointed out to me. Kind of hard to miss, it was right there!
I always look for the rainbows, too. Dimension Skipper's comment about the "dome" in the first picture is exactly what I saw, too. I looks so cozy, I just want to crawl in there and bask.
ReplyDeleteI missed the comment on the Dome effect of the first photo.
ReplyDeleteWhen I took the shot, I thought it was a loser, because of all the rain on the window...but it ended up making the photo. :-)
Glad you both like it.
