Another work by artist, Niki de Saint Phalle. The other work, is here.
As soon as I saw the title of this piece of art, I had to look it up, to see it. Angels being such a big part of this blog and all that and my "alter ego" going by the name of angé sometimes, it was a must see for me. :-)
L'Ange Protecteur resides in a busy train station in Zürich, Switzerland, hanging above the many travelers passing through.
Strikingly similar to the art work in my own Metro Civic Center Station.
Interesting and as with most all the artist's work, very colorful.
If your travels the other day didn't bring this particular work to your attention, I hope you enjoyed it today.
A sad note: When reading her biography I saw that Niki's death was directly caused by her artwork. As an artist, that bothers me, because I know how much I had to work not to get Cadmium Red and Cadmium Yellow paint on my hands, when oil painting. The chemicals artists work with, in different mediums they utilize for their work, can take their toll and they obviously did, in the case of Niki.

On a happier topic:
To my friend Gina, in Belgium. I see that the only work of Niki's in Belgium is not open to public access and resides all the way on the other side of Belgium, along the coast, in Knokke.
Though if you ever get to Nice, France you can visit with Miles Davis. Somehow, I am sure you would appreciate that work. :-)
