Billboards And Their Messages

Billboards abound on my 1/2 mile walk to work...or so it seems.

I have seen this one by the Ad Council on several bus shelters. Reminding people that it is not the cat's fault when it ends up in the shelter. It breaks my heart, each time I see it, because you know the cat could be destined to be killed.

The billboard makes a very powerful statement, while being cute, at the same time. Thankfully, no gross images needed.

I have mentioned before that many neighborhoods come together right here. One happens to be Silverlake. The billboard that is prominently displayed in the middle of the 6 street intersection, is usually targeted to the gay community.

This one definitely feels that way. In case you can't read it, it states..."Play too hard? FreeHIVtest.net".

In the past few weeks we had one that stated..."Do it for your mother" with the same HIV test webpage. Both of these are just a little disturbing to me.
Maybe I am not the target audience and that is why, I find it to be so. But they do make a point that should definitely be heeded.
