It was just another typical Saturday. We took off to run errands and when we returned, the cat had 1 eye shut up tight. I had my hands full of stuff and more out in the car and by the time we finished up with it all, the cat was out of my head.
So I called my sister and tried on my new clothes and then finally sat down. That's when the brain kicked in and said I should check out the cat again.
It was 3:35PM and the vet closes at 4PM. It took a few minutes, but when I found her, the right eye was totally shut and tearing, so I made a kamikaze run to the vet and got there at 3:50PM...just in time. The cat had her eye open and I was sure I was going to get yelled out for crying wolf once again. Instead the vet put the day glow drops in and finds an ulcerated eye. I had grabbed my eye drops from last year when the cat had a problem and those (thankfully) were still good. The vet gave me pain meds and a cone to put on her neck.
As I have heard from others, what a royal pain THAT is. She got it off as soon as we left her alone for a few moments.
All in all, $130 poorer and the cat is back home and hopefully on the road to recovery.
Oh, Angel I feel so sorry for you & Makeena, Geoff think the cone is too small for the cat, which I agree. That is not what I would want to come home to. I would say we both had a very interesting Saturday.
ReplyDeleteOh Kitty!!! Poor Makenna, and I feel for you too.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it looks small, but she can get that thing off like a pro. We had to duct tape it shut!
ReplyDeleteSigh...
Wow. She can weasel out of a cone of silence. Well done, Makenna, although it isn't helping!!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear Makenna's having problems, but glad you caught it!
Well, she finally did keep it on (with the duct tape), but she is pretty resourceful...especially with her collar.
