A Mother And Her Child

There are many things I could say right now, but I don't have a clue where to begin.

It has been a tragic 24 hours, with the early morning (for my time zone) shooting at a Connecticut school.

There are people dead, many of them, very young children, but I don't believe gun control is the answer to the anger that so many of us are feeling. As we have seen, you do not need a gun to terrorize a population. In the Middle East, bombs are used, instead.

I believe in background checks and limits on assault riffles, but the right to own a gun, is just fine by me. Note, this is from someone who has never held a gun in her life, so it is not as if I am a card carrying member of the NRA.

As people have seen, no matter how much we protect our children, there is no 100 percent way to do so. Rich or poor, if bad things are going to happen, they are going to happen. All we can do is our best and try to play the odds.

My son goes to school in East LA. Do I worry? Constantly...but sometimes, you just have to let go and let them fly on their own.

Bringing this post back to the photo above, I am positive that Mary worried and wanted to protect her child, Jesus. As with me, sometimes you just have to let go and she did.

My prayers to the victims and to the families living the worst that this world can give out.

  1. Truthfully I don't know what to say. I feel so bad for the Children, the parents the other children. It comes down to a very, very bad thing that will probity never be fixed. :-(
