Christmas Eve Dinner 2012

It is a tradition. Every year we have fish for Christmas Eve.

This year's dinner included 2 kinds of sauce and pasta.

Stuffed Calamari and Mussels. One sauce is much sweeter then the other. Maybe because of the stuffing in the calamari. My son put his together, but I ate each one separate, to get the full effect. :-)

We had some HUGE, GIANT "On Sale" calamari that I cut into rings and coated in flour and fried up. The very bottom of the calamari I stuffed like the others and dropped into the sauce to cook. It worked out OK and as my son keeps saying, "Mom, they were on sale!"

We had shrimp, some breaded and some floured and fried up.

I also marinated Octopus (my only antipasto).

All in all, a great Xmas Eve Dinner.

  1. Angel, I am impressed. It sounds exactly like Christmas Eve at the Fallacara home. God I really miss that. I am glad you can keep up the tradition, Love you :-)

  2. Yeah, it does. :-)

I can't get into smelts, which we use to have, back in the day. I never saw the use in them...too many bones. Otherwise, I hold true to the traditions of my family.

  3. Truthfully I never saw the need for smelts anyway, I never ate them (I think Mom made it for Dad) so I think you did just fine....
