This was Christmas Eve "Midnight" Mass at St. Kateri Church. I have a friend in my Aqua Fit class who told me to try to see them at one of the three times they were due to perform, during Christmas week. Since I didn't want to spend $15, I skipped the concert on the 23rd and instead I ran back after dinner with my family, to catch their 2nd performance. This is the full orchestra that we rented for the 3 days, along with the adult choir.
When I arrived, about 15 minutes before the service was to begin, the choir and orchestra began a warm up and kind of an intro to the evening. They played about three difficult songs, such as "Oh Holy Night", "Do You Hear What I Hear" and something else, that escapes me now. It was quite impressive, but I must say that as a member of the audience, I almost felt like it would not be appropriate to sing along with them. Too bad, cause I LOVE Christmas music and I sing well.
The next two photos are the Nativity Scene display for 2012.
Normally, the Wise Men are right next to the main display and they don't move. Once they are placed, they stay where they are.
Well, this year they are all the way at the back of the church, sitting over the Baptismal Font. I was quite surprised to see that and don't ask me if they will be moved from day to day, or brought up to the front on the appropriate 12th day.
No matter what, it is different and I guess interesting.
Oh, at one point, I went to go to Communion and I mentioned to the guy sitting by the rear of the camel, that he had a camel behind him. I guess you had to be there, cause it was a funny line.
