Several years ago, I posted about a Ricotta Pie that my Mom used to make. I called it Pizza Dulce (or Sweet Pie).
A friend saw the recipe and has been making it for several years now. Becoming a family tradition in the Boston area. That is somewhere far away from me, though not too far from NY, where the recipe originally came from.
Well, I saw a photo my friend took at Thanksgiving and so this year I felt the urge to make one again. I made a mistake on my vodka pie crust and made 2, so I had a pie crust left over from Thanksgiving. That made it even easier for me, since the crust is usually the hardest part.
Just a few ingredients to mix together, a lot of grating of lemon rind and orange rind and you are done.
Pizza Dulce or Ricotta Pie. Whatever you call it, it is great.
My Mom would be proud to know her recipe is being enjoyed by many other people. Thanks Denise for sharing your photos on Facebook and tagging me in them. I am humbled.
