The House Lights 2012

My holiday lights for this year.

They are basically similar to last year, with small modifications.

I used both lighted garlands around the poles that surround the bay window. Last year I couldn't figure out how to hang them without making holes in my new paint job. This year, for some reason, no problem.

The tree in the second photo has lights on it. When I looked at last year's photos, I saw that I did the same thing. They are a bit lower, but just fine and match the height of the house.

The final change is the white walkway lights and candy canes. They are down on the same side of the walkway as the planter with the tree. In this photo, the lights are in, but we had not put the candy canes into the ground. So you do not see them, but trust me, they are there now.

We usually placed them on the opposite side of the walkway and we had problems mowing the grass and (if you remember last year) someone pulled them all out of the lawn and threw them around. You can see that post, HERE.

Maybe with them slightly hidden, they will have no problem this year.

By the way, we used the snap on clips again this year and we had no breaking of clips or anything. I heartily recommend them, for ease of hanging and removing.

The only thing we needed a ladder for, was placing the multi-plug extension cord under our eaves and hanging the wreath above the garage door.

So that's it, our house, this holiday season.

  1. Thank you. By the way, did you ever buy the digital lights? They seem to work very well.
