Views of Christmas 2007

Christmas came, gifts arrived. NORAD tracked Santa for us all. We fed 9 guests last night and later in the evening, we had 2 visitors who dropped in just to wish us a Merry Christmas. It was my "other son" and his friend. They spent so little time, they didn't even have time for a fridge raid. :-)

We have spent the past 3 days running the audio board at Church, in between our many holiday celebrations. Here is a view from the audio board at Church this morning. Yesterday afternoon we worked the 4PM Mass and we must have had well over 1000 people stuffed into the area that normally holds around 600 people. Next year we get our new Church building (we have spent the past 10 years in a multipurpose area), so these problems will soon be in the past. For now, it was a total nightmare, audio wise. In good news, the service and The Children's Choir went very well and looked so beautiful.
Today's service was much quieter. The Church was maybe 1/2 to 2/3 full. The soloist is classically trained and sings like an angel. I have mentioned her before. It made having to work 2 masses in such a short period of time, worth it.

In regard to our guests. Christmas Eve went well and what we didn't do last night was made and consumed today...in other words, the calzones were great!
Natch, I was the cook. :-)

Dinner was almost the same as Thanksgiving. Good food, good company and much more laid back then Monday had been. That is always the way in our house. Christmas Eve is the important celebration and Christmas Day, not so much.
