Mega Millions

It is all my bosses fault!

2 weeks ago, she gave me a Lottery ticket for Mega Millions. I had never played this game, but I do remember playing Super Lotto. We are talking maybe 10 or so years ago...ancient history!

In case you are just as ignorant about this stuff as I am, this game is played in 42 of the US States and the DC area. That is what makes the jackpot roll so high.

Well, we didn't win on that first Friday and I didn't think about it and missed the Tuesday and Friday drawings that no one won. So the jackpot increased up into the $295 million area, which caused Mega Millions to be mentioned everywhere. On my lunch break this Tuesday, I took a walk to the local liquor store and bought this ticket. I didn't win once again, but now the prize money has rolled again and...yeah, maybe I will purchase a ticket before the drawing on Friday.
After all, $500 million is no chump change. :-)

  1. It's funny, but even Geoff was actually talking about buying a lotto ticket. I guess money problems are is so bad that I guess everyone wants to try!!! Good luck to all.... :-)

  2. I even bought a ticket for last Tuesday's drawing! It had been years since I had even thought about the lottery! Not sure if I'll get one for tonight. That's just way too much money!

  3. Even my Marine "Son" bought 10 tickets! I couldn't believe it was even on his radar. lol

I will suffer with the way too much money. I have many places to send it. :-)

  4. Apparently there were 3 big jackpot winners (in Illinois, Kansas, & Maryland).

There were 161 winners who matched the five main numbers without the Megaplier, 29 in California, 5 in New Jersey (to the best of my knowledge so far, no one I know).

I long ago came to the realization that I'm not one of the lucky ones at such things, not even in minor raffles, so I don't play (even though I was very, very tempted). Instead I played along online "for amusement purposes only" via the MegaMillions random number generator page. Of the five sets of tickets it generated for me I matched only one number and it wasn't the Megaplier.

See, I'm not even lucky when it doesn't count! Although, come to think of it, I probably prefer NOT to hit a major jackpot that way lest I might wind up doing grievous bodily harm to myself.

  5. Dim Skip: Not surprising that you lost. The odds are incredible, and that's why we all lose. lol
