Back to our soon to be new home, The Pointe.
This first photo is looking at the side of the building that faces NBC. On that side, is a bamboo plant. So there I am taking artsy photo after artsy photo of the bamboo and suddenly my husband comments that there was a window on that side of the building that had the glass punched out of it and replaced.
Really, I said...where? So he had me count up five floors (remember the first floor is black) and count about 5 windows from the edge of the building. Lo and behold, if you look really closely, you can see what he is talking about. Metal clips holding the window in place.
OK, I was curious enough to ask my boss about it. He said that when they laid the stage floor, they had to bring in a cement pump through the window. Wow, that must have been pretty impressive to see.
I know you have been waiting for this moment.
Finally, here is one of those artsy photos of the bamboo. :-)
The plant is on the far right side of the first photo, if you were curious.
I am not quite sure why the plants are there.
Bamboo is pretty exotic and usually doesn't turn up as landscaping, though I know we have some at the LA Zoo just down the street. Oh well, if a koala bear escapes from the zoo, we have his food needs covered.
Ummm...Koala ... bamboo? I thought it was eucalyptus. Either way I've never seen that plant growing in a landscape office building.
ReplyDeleteGypsum concrete is a green building material. It's fire and sound resistant and self leveling and lightweight. Nice choice.
Oh, maybe you are right Tom. I remember a Monty Python routine with yummy eucalyptus leaves. :-)
DeleteHi Cathy,
ReplyDeleteYep, it's Eucalyptus. Martha needs a mini-tutorial on how to "un-friend" folks on Facebook. I'm not much help since I don't use it at all. She basically wants to get rid of things like the Handyman Club and KCET. Could you give her a hand when you get the chance?
I took care of both. If she needs further help, let me know. I was the one who friended her with KCET, cause we needed enough people so they could change their name. I think you need 20 friends to do that, so the guy was coming around to Facebookers and asking, so I did it for her account, too.
ReplyDeleteNo problem unfriending. You click on the liked button and it gives you options and you take unlike as the one you want. Easy as pie.
