It's been crazy here between work (always a challenge) and my final class. Thankfully, it only meets one day a week and so I Skype in during my lunch hour at work, at 12:55PM. What used to be a late in the day class for me, is now a lunch time class. It works out perfect, because most of the staff don't even realize that I am using one of our conference rooms. Most of them are...well, at lunch. :-)
So the project I had basically in my mind these past 4 or 5 months, is finally being executed. The first post on the KCET Website will be going up on Monday at 10AM. I can't give you the link yet, but if you care and are clever and I don't get back here on Monday, fast enough for you, you will probably find it in the category of TV Talk.
The first subject out the gate, is on Pledge Drives from the past and is basically a post I wrote a few years ago, that I have rewritten for our members, who are basically 50 and up. I hope to attack them via our member email list, our Digital Download e-blast from New Media, our Facebook account and our Twitter account. Anywhere they hang, I am hoping to hit them and bring them over to get "hits".
I also will need these people to start to feel nostalgic and give money to us, so on that side of the project, I am working with our Publicity, Development and New Media Departments, to make a Donate Button for the 50th. They would have gotten around to it, but I need it faster than they do. It probably won't make it up for the first week, but I hope to have a dedicated "Donate" Button by week 2.
Look for my posts each Monday and Thursday, for the next 8 weeks. Give me hits and if you can do so, a Donation would be nice...though if you live outside of the Los Angeles area, that is probably a useless thing for you to do.
In other news, I just applied for Graduation in May. WOOT!
