Unfortunately for them, action is not what they ended up getting. This is the view from our window at work. 6 or so fire trucks, including the hook and ladder and paramedic came roaring down the side street outside our building. About 10 men go running into it, mostly via the back door. A few minutes later, they all come out the front of the house and stand around, looking like they don't know what to do. We have no idea what was going on, but our best guess was that there was a kitchen fire that the residents managed to get out. We didn't see any smoke coming out the doors or roof and being it was dinner time, that seems to be the most possible scenario.
It did give us something to watch for about 15 minutes and you can tell it was still hot out, because the firemen began taking off their turnout gear.
I don't envy them their jobs at all. Hot clothes in an even hotter environment. I will take my overkill air conditioning any day.
