An 8 year old child who just lost his Navy SEAL father, Thomas Valentine, is honoring the memory of his Dad, by fundraising for Air Compassion For Veterans. The organization transports patients who need far away medical treatment, but don't have the money to fly.
You can donate money directly on their website, in John's Dad's name and they say they will give all those donations to John. That way, he can present the total amount that was sent in and the amount that was collected by him, during their Halos and Heroes event on October 4th.
Another special thing you can do, is give your US Air (America West) Frequent Flyer miles over to Air Compassion for Veterans. It costs you nothing and keeps those miles from expiring. A good thing to keep in mind. Better someone uses your hard earned miles, rather then giving it back to the airline.
