It's Election Day...Finally!

Whoever wins the right to lead this Country for the next 4 years, "hopefully" finds out his fate, tonight. Win, lose or draw, it is going to be a huge task and I don't envy the person. On a local level, since the race (at least in our corner of the Country) is pretty much a known outcome, most of what we have been dealing with are the Propositions that are on the ballot. I personally wish we did not have to deal with these things, but I moved to this state and I don't have a choice in the matter. This is how we do business in California. So when you pass street corners, for the past week or so, "No on this" and "Yes on that" signs are being waved at the passers by. I HATE IT!
My son, who has been 18 for all of 4 days, did get to vote, as I mentioned before. To our utter surprise, he has also gotten 3 political mail pieces from a local candidate for election. What list or lists is generating his name, we wonder? It's a little bit early for his voter registration to have gotten on the "hit" list...or is it? Could it be his High School graduation list? College registration list? What adds to the humor of the hit pieces, for us at least, is that the candidates wife is my son's teacher this semester. What subject you might ask? Intro To American Government/Politics (a fabulous class to be taking at this time in our election cycle).

As each piece of literature comes in, we welcome my son to adulthood.
