It's Like Thunder...Lightning

Woke up yesterday morning at 6AM and within minutes of almost awakening, I hear thunder. After the better part of 8 months without rain and even longer since we have had thunder and lightning, that got me out of bed in a hurry. My side of the bed is right next to the window and they say to get away from them. So I grab my fleece throw and go into the family room, where I go back to sleep a bit and find that my dreams are worse then the reality. As the day continued, bands of thunder showers came through and at one point, the National Weather Service in Oxnard said there may be gusts of wind up to 70mph. I was really freaking out by then...so I grabbed Mr. fleece again and went back to sleep. My son was around for the third wave of showers and his comment to me. "You are such a scaredy cat, for a person who grew up in the East Coast". I will cop to that. :-)

For any who are wondering...
More showers are predicted on Sunday, so no flying will be going on for my son. It has been so long since he flew, that we are back to Touch and Goes, to get him into the aircraft again.
