My 28th Order From Abundant Harvest Organics

It must be apple time...

I got not only 8 apples from my box, but since I sent a photo of a bad apple to AHO (even though I told them I did not need it to be replaced) I got 8 MORE apples!

Here's what is in my box this week.

8 Apples
5 Baby Beets
1 small bunch of Broccolini
1 small head of Butter Lettuce
3 large Carrots
1 bunch of Green Garlic
1 small plastic bag of Italian Herb Mix
3 small Kohlrabi
5 Murcott Mandarin Oranges
1 Bunch of Red Mizuna
1 Sweet Potato
8 Apples (Yes, I have 16 apples)

What is left from last time: A few apples, a few oranges, a few radishes, the bunch of rosemary, 2 of the rutabagas, a few carrots and the lemons. In my defense, I got the oranges and lemons from my friend and that added to what I had in the house. I am sure I will use them both.

Considering all that I got from the last time, I did quite well getting rid of my produce.

Since Sunday is cooking day in my house, I got rid of 2 more of the older carrots, some of the butter lettuce, some of the older apples and 2 new granny smith apples (for my stuffing). I made sweet potatoes and the broccolini to serve with my Turkey Dinner.

I am not sure what I am going to do with the mizuna (note, it is green, not red).

I hear that kohlrabi is similar to carrots, in that you can peel them and dip them into a dip. Maybe I will try that.

As to the rest, keep eating apples and oranges, is all I can say. :-)

See you in 3 weeks.
