The Biggest Bill Is The Phone?

It has been a difficult year, money wise, but don't cry for me.

We are doing just fine. What I wondered was why this was.

We used to live on this money back 2 years earlier, what's the problem now?

I read an article today in the Wall Street Journal and something did become clear to me. I suggest you read the article HERE, first. (I am not sure how long that link will last, by the way.)

2 years ago, we did not have Data Phones. That came along in January of 2011 and with that came a phone bill that doubled. It is not a huge deal, but between my phones, my cable, my Internet and of course, the cells, it is $300 in charges each month. That's a lot of money for duplicated services.

I know many who have gotten rid of their land lines, but I refuse to do this. Cell phones stink at most everything and the phone is the worst part. It is great if you have no choice, but it is not good for an involved conversation.

The cell has a data plan that allows you to check in with News, Facebook, my Blog, where my bus is, etc. It has become a necessity in all our lives. I am truly glad we got unlimited data, but it comes at a cost and that cost is that there is less money in our house.

Our plan comes up for renewal after the first of next year and why do I feel an increase in cost coming up.

By the way, our going out to eat budget is one day a week, on Saturday evening. It is our family time together. The rest of the week is whatever works for anyone. :-)
