Yom Kippur 2012 (AKA 5773)

I wish all my Jewish friends a blessed Yom Kippur.

May you find yourself inscribed in the book of life for another year.

I will be working a half day and will then run up to our families Temple in Northridge. My Husband will actually be there the entire day. A rarity in our lives.

After Temple, we will be breaking the fast with my Husband's family. My son, of course, is far away, in Boston. I will miss him.

Hopefully there will be lots of yummy food to consume, including lox and bagels and of course sweet foods, usually containing honey. Salads, tuna salad, fruits (with the mandatory apple slices)...you name it, but all will be dairy and not heated. It is a tradition, probably dating back to ancient times.

If you are a Jew, please enjoy the day, as best you can. I hope you love the music they play on this holiest of days, as much as I do. :-)
